I am worried about my first grader taking the lessons alone. Can a parent participate together?

As a rule, only children can participate in our lessons. However, some of tutoring schools allow parents to observe the class at any time. Please contact your nearest tutoring school for a class observation.

Can I purchase the educational materials of “Tamaishiki at home” for the school year which my child is not in?

Yes, you can. However, we request you to accept the "Rules related to the lessons", which you will see when applying.

How do I apply to continue learning next month?

The application period runs from the 26th of the month before the last month of study to the 25th of the last month of study. If you would like to continue studying, you can apply by submitting Additional materials / Renewal form within the specified period.
You can choose to study for 1, 3 or 6 months when you apply.
*Some study periods may not be applicable depending on the timing of your application.
The course will be automatically cancelled if there is no application for renewal.

Can I change my address, phone number or email address?

If you would like to change your details, you can contact us using the Contact Us Form. We will let you know as soon as the change has been completed.

Is there anything I need to prepare for the Tamaishiki at Home courses?

To use Tamaishiki at Home, you need a PC, tablet or smartphone with an internet connection and Zoom installed (The Pensées Frontiére AR science experiment course requires two devices).

Is it possible to watch past learning videos and download past worksheets?

Past learning videos and worksheets are only available for viewing or downloading for a limited time as they are updated every month (three study terms). Please make sure you watch the videos and download the worksheet within the appropriate month. The course starts within the month of application, even if you start your course in the middle of the fiscal year.

Is participation in online classes compulsory?

Online classes are free and open to all students as a benefit of Tamaishiki at Home.
(The course fee will not be reduced for absence of classes).
For those who are unable to attend, a recording of the online class will be available for one week after the class.

Is the style and volume of studying Tamaishiki at Home M.R.C.® the same as studying at a tutoring school?

We offer a preparation style where students study the next content by watching the videos at home before the class starts.
"Dekitakana? Worksheet", which is used in a tutoring class, is not included in the materials as we want to keep the volume manageable for home study.
It's focused on preparing for the next lesson without homework, and is designed to focus on presenting your way of thinking and learning the way other students think in class.

Please tell me the differences between the "Regular Course" and the "Pre-empt Course" of Tamaishiki at Home M.R.C.®?

The same content and materials are used in both courses. The Pre-empt Course provides the content two months earlier than the Regular Course.
e.g. Regular Course students learn the content in April, while Pre-empt Course students learn it in February.
Study content is original to Tamaishiki, not based on the school curriculum.

Is there a trial course for Tamaishiki M.R.C.®?

Yes, you can change your course by sending us the contact form. Please note that you will miss the last two months of content if you switch from the Regular Course to the Pre-empt Course. Please note that you will be receiving the same content twice if you switch from the Pre-empt Course to the Regular Course.

"Tamaishiki M.R.C." is named by the original creator, Mitsuyo Tamai. It's designed for students to learn mathematics while improving their reading comprehension seamlessly.

Tamaishiki focuses on the students to develop their "reading comprehension". There are many students who are good at calculations, but struggle with solving the word problems. It's important to understand the problem's contents and visualize it in mind. Tamaishiki provides training to build up the strength of students in those areas.
