Nara Ikuei School is a small private school composed of 87 students and 16 teachers.The school is located near the nature-rich Nara Park, so herds of deer sometimes come to visit!

We offer the following English classes

1. A Japanese teacher + a private lesson with a Native English speaking teacher
2. A Japanese teacher + a group lesson with an assistant English speaking teacher
3. Presentation class; giving presentations to students overseas.

The school also encourages students to take entrance exams for junior high schools, and supports students who wish to go on to Nada Junior High School or Nara University of Education Junior High School. (Some 5th and 6th graders even study during recess!).

But of course, students are free to choose whether or not to take the entrance exam. The upperclassmen walk the lowerclassmen to the nearest train station when they finish school. I was a little concerned that they might be too pure and gentle to go out into the world. However, when I observe the children during recess,  I see that they are developing critical thinking and the ability to express themselves, which are essential skills in the real world. They are all wonderful students!
